World Famous Old Smokey Marinade
Use this for anything, but especially for smoking ribs!
- 1/2 cup vinegar (apple cider type, for our taste)
- 1/2 cup water
- 4 tbsp prepared yellow mustard
- 3 tbsp olive or peanut oil
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cayenne
Mix well and put marinade in a plastic container. Spoon a portion into a bowl, to be applied with the Big Long Mop or you can use just the water, vinegar and oil, in a spray bottle. If using the Big Long Mop, stir each time before mopping. Never save marinade left in the bowl (it is tainted with the meat's raw juices). The rest of the marinade will last a long time in the refrigerator.
